Renew Building |
| |
The EU LIFE+ project "Renew Building" sets a straight strategy for climate protection through ecologically efficient renovation and restauration of buildings. During the 3 years of the projects, planning architects, craftsmen and stakeholders alike will be trained by experts. A wholistic concept of module-based teaching includes practical demonstration at apprenticeship-sites and a constantly updated knowledgebase-webplatform.

Integrated building systems |
| |
From passive house to energy-plus building of tomorrow: Buildings will move from their current status as energy consumers forward to being suppliers of energy. Energy efficiency, energy storage, and decentralized use of renewable energy are essential steps on this path. Central aim of the project "Building integration" is to design the whole building envelope in a way that minimizes heat loss, and maximizes profit from using renewable energy. Ecological, architectonic, spatial planning and socio-economic aspects will be considered. Results will be: Reduction of greenhouse gases emissions, improved security of supply, and a drastic increase of energy efficiency.
GrAT is partner in this project which is being led by the Institute for Electric Facilities and Energy Economics at the Vienna University of Technology.

S-HOUSE |
| |
With the S-HOUSE, the Factor 10 Concept is implemented in the building segment, which meets the criteria for sustainable building. By using building materials derived from renewable raw materials and the passive house technology, the consumption of resources during the construction of a building could be minimised by Factor 10 as compared to conventional construction methods according the state-of-the-art technology.
